2) BIODEGRADABLE: Eco and organic textiles are earth friendly and bio-degrade naturally over time. Synthetic fibers eventually become waste and let off harmful toxins when they degrade.
3) ABSORPTION: Not only do its chemicals reach into our groundwater, but conventional clothing is worn next to our most porous organ -our skin. If nicotine and other drugs are absorbed through patches on our skin, how can we assume that we do not also absorb the chemicals in our clothing? Organic and eco fibers are natural and do not contain any irritating chemicals. Many of them are considered hypo-allergenic and are naturally anti-bacterial.
4) POPULARITY: Organic foods have been around for a while, but have gained momentum over the past five years. The largest organic consumers make up the huge "baby boomer" and "echo" markets. Materials once considered to be alternative are now entering the mainstream!
